When driving at around 40-50mph and flooring it to accelerate then letting off the accelerator pedal there is sometimes a bang or bump, sometimes harsh felt in the front end or transmission. Transmission intermittently bump shifts or slams into gear. Thank you.Ĩ Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2002 Dodge Intrepid This should not happen and is dangerous, I almost smashed into the traffic in front of me. New springs or whatever with only 32,000? I have never had that happen in my old 1995 Dodge Intrepid although it had it's problems. Vehicle does seem to hop or bounce a little much also at times causing the front wheels to loose traction or slide on slight turns. I talked to independent mechanic that told me that my vehicle should not have skidded as it did and my springs could be responsible for the excessive uplift that occured. I have not had any other problems with abs however brakes are starting to sometimes feel funny, almost a little rough when applied lately. I beleive that the abs failed due to the springs or struts bouncing allowing the vehicle to lift up too much thus loosing traction causing abs to fail. I am using stock goodyear tires with good tread, service center told me tires are ok, I am supposed to have abs (anti-lock brakes) so this does not happen. While driving on freeway near tracy, CA vehicle drove over smoothly part in freeway that slightly went upward then slightly downward causing vehicle springs or struts to lift up or hop far too much creating very poor vehicle traction, traffic then abruptly halted, had to brake hard to stop vehicle, vehicle had poor traction and just slid making a loud tire screeching noise, had to very quickly release the brake since vehicle was skidding, shifted into autostick and downshifted quickly in conjunction with quickly using brake get vehicle to stop properly. I am not paying for a recall that has to do with.
I believe this to be a new recall on my vehicle that hasn't been researched or looked into on all makes of Dodge Intrepid's during 1996. I have the technical service bullentin reference number as along with paperwork from these places. The Dodge dealership is not wanting to fix this problem. I have been to 3 different places to get my car inspected and at all 3 places its showing the powertrain control module needs to be flashed or reprogrammed. So the complait that I am filing is on a 1996 Dodge Intrepid. Well, I did that and I took at back to tuffy's auto service center and the same bullentin popped up again as like at the other places. My vehicle was rejected because the powertrain control module needs to be reprogrammed! well, I drove this car all day yesterday and last night and I took it to 2 other places and the same thing showed up like at tuffy auto service center!! I took it to steve white motors and their serviceman said to drive it around for 20-30 miles at a constant speed of 45-55mph. They proceeded to inspect my vehicle when they hooked it up to the computer to pass onboard diagnostic ii language. Hatcher, went to tuffy auto service center to get my car inspected.
